SOFTWARE FACTORY

The Software factory model makes possible a great cut on the development cost. It does this through the reduction of expenses with displacement, parking, hardware rental, physical space and others. This is all done without affecting quality of the final product. The quality control is accomplished by going through a complete systems check before being released to customer.

Apice has the use of a flexible structure in both offices (Sao Paulo and Alphaville) to best accommodate the demands in software factories. The offices are connected through the “links”, allowing the programming jobs to be executed in both places using just one “link” with the customer.

Each step in development can be followed by the client through status reports. The reports are continually provided by the company during the entirety of the project.

METHODOLOGY

The jobs are done with standard proceedings, specifications and approved methodologies aiming to deliver the services with quality, agility and a suitable demanding performance.

For a better approach to the remote tasks, Apice uses a factory control system. Throughout this system, the Project’s coordinators are able to check the status of each event on the factory. Examples: who is the programmer responsible for each codification, when the event will be tested and ready to be sent to for final testing, and if there is the possibility of anything pending in other areas.

The system is updated daily for the software factory’s manager.

In this software factory’s traditional model, Ápice uses the point projects system control, getting a total vision of the project’s in factory step by step.

Apice’s developing methodology had arisen from the necessity to define processes and proceedings to be to able to direct their consultants and implementation project developers.

The result of this study suggests standard forms, documentation with rigid control and codified programs connected to specialized activity flow for each solution.

The presented proceedings must be adapted to the metrics and specific customers' control.

STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT

Apice makes use in its program creation of codified documentation, variable creation, being methodical. This is achieved by specialized members of the company, to ensure a high standard of results for the client.
